Power Supply and Heating Supply by CR Power Central China Region During Epidemic Prevention Period

 CR Power Central China Region's business covers thermal power generation, new energy, electricity sales, etc. By the end of January 2020, the thermal power operation projects of the company had included Chibi Power Plant, Yichang Power Plant and Lianyuan Power Plant, of which the first two are located in Hubei and the third in Hunan, with a total installed capacity of 4.02 million kilowatts. Its new energy business covers 4 regional companies in Suizhou (Hubei), Xiangyang (Hubei), north Jiangxi and south Jiangxi respectively. 13 wind farms are in operation, of which 11 are in Hubei and 2 in Jiangxi, with an installed capacity of 974,000 kilowatts in operation and an installed capacity of 378,000 kilowatts under construction. The company’s electricity sales business covers three electricity sales companies in Hubei, Hunan and Jiangxi respectively.

 Chibi Power Plant, also known as CR Power Hubei Co., Ltd., has four power generation units, with a total installed capacity of 2.66 million kilowatts. Located in Chibi City, Hubei Province, it is an important backbone power supply for the power grid in southern Hubei and in Xianning.

 On January 23, Wuhan was put in lockdown. Since Hubei's epidemic prevention and control measures were upgraded, the Party committees of China Resources Group and CR Power have successively instructed CR Power Central China Region to raise its political standing, fulfill its responsibilities as a Central enterprise, make every effort to stabilize production and ensure power supply and heating supply for industry and people's livelihood, including:

 1. The epidemic situation is an order, and prevention and control is the responsibility. The Party committee of CR Power Central China Region assumed a firm attitude and stand, resolutely followed the Central Party Committee's important instructions, gave full play to the Party's leading political advantages, organized epidemic prevention and supply guarantee in an orderly manner, and strictly implemented emergency plans. During the epidemic prevention period, safe and stable production was carried out and the social responsibility of maintaining the stability of the power grid and ensuring people's livelihood was perfectly fulfilled. From January 23 to February 1, CR China Central China Region generated 446 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 65,500 GJ of heat, of which Chibi Power Plant contributed 266 million kilowatt-hours of electricity and 9,000 JG of heat.

 CR Power Central China Region is always staying true to its mission and sticking to its bottom line. In order to deal with the epidemic on a long-term basis and ensure a stable supply of electricity, all employees were mobilized to get in “combat” readiness, overcome difficulties, and go whole hog in upgrading the stock of coal and materials consumed in large-scale production. From January 23 to February 1, a total of 147,000 tons of coal and 4,500 tons of materials for large-scale production were urgently allocated. In February, the company planned to invest RMB 160 million to increase the stock of materials. Currently the fuel and material reserves have been increased to a level that can guarantee the continuous operation of the power plant for one and a half months, thus ensuring the power supply of the power grid.

 2. The employees were willing to follow the Party's command, abide by the rules and regulations and always ready to dedicate themselves to work. The generator set cannot stop for one single minute in 24 hours, for which the health of frontline employees and organizational integrity are the key foundation. In order to ensure the safety of epidemic prevention and stable operation of employees on duty, the Party committee of CR Power Central China Region took the "divided-into-groups-by-region-for-isolation-and-protection" measure for a total of about 1,400 on-the-job production workers. At the same time, under the orderly organization and arrangement, about 300 employees ended their vacations in advance and returned to work. This emergency management method, which has never been seen before in CR China Central China Region, was highly recognized by the provincial energy competent departments. During this period, the company put in a considerable sum of money in accommodation, food and epidemic prevention materials, which altogether amounted to RMB 12 million per month and was borne by the company itself.

 All employees consciously followed the instructions and actively cooperated with each other, showing their well-disciplined and professional qualities as an electric power workforce. During the period, Party organizations and cadres and workers in grass-roots units actively responded to the call of the Party committee of CR Power Central China Region, bringing to full play the role of grass-roots Party organizations as battle fortresses and Party members as vanguards and role models. There appeared a string of moving stories with employees of selfless devotion to duty.
