On September 11, Ge Changxin, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and Senior Vice President of CR Power, attended China-CSR 4.0 kick-off meeting in Beijing and delivered a speech. The Steering Committee of China-CSR 4.0 was the official sponsor of the event. At the meeting, the sponsor held the “Release Ceremony for 2015 Social Responsibility Report” for China Resources Group, CR Power and CR Land. This was the first time that CR Power has published its Sustainable Development Report at a national professional social responsibility meeting and obtained a five-star report assessment from “China Corporate Social Responsibility Report Rating Expert Committee”. There were about 150 representatives from government sectors, educational and research institutions, foreign and domestic large companies, news media, present at this meeting.
This annual report of CR Power demonstrates CR Power's profound understanding and practice of “renewable ” from six perspectives—responsibility management (renewable & moral), environmental responsibility (renewable & clean), shareholder responsibility (renewable & fertile), partner responsibility (renewable & sincere), employee responsibility (renewable & profound) and public responsibility (renewable & helpful)—with “Renewing Life with Green Energy” as the theme. The Report tightly focuses on green development, energy conservation and environmental protection and other themes of the industry and the times. It takes Chinese ink landscape painting as a background, which starts with some archaisms at the beginning of each chapter, and explains the CSR principles and pursuits of CR Power from the perspective of traditional Chinese culture. As such, it displays CR Power's core philosophy—inheritance of Chinese culture and integration with social environment. Through multidimensional benchmarking analysis, the Report has been continuously improved in terms of report establishment procedure and the substantiality, integrity, balance, comparability, readability and innovation of contents, according to the latest foreign and domestic standards such as CRI Sustainable Development Report Guidelines (G4), China CSR Report Writing Guidelines (CASS-CSR3.0) and Environmental, Social and Governance Reporting Guide (HK-ESG). Moreover, it reflects CR Power’s accurate understanding of industry characteristics and the idea of responsibility as well as excellent fulfillment of responsibility practices and high-level responsibility management. All of the above have been highly affirmed by all experts.
During his speech, Ge Changxin, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of CR Power, thanked the Research Center for Corporate Social Responsibility of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, China Resources Group. He also thanked all of the stakeholders for their long-term support for the CSR-related work of CP Power and shared CP Power’s perceptions in CSR management and practice and relevant report writing. He pointed out that CR Power had published its Sustainable Development Report for the consecutive 6th year and obtained a “five-star” rating for the first time in this year. Through preparation and publishing of such report, it has not only enhanced the communication, understanding and trust between CR Power and all stakeholders, but also promoted the improvement of its CSR management, and achieved “three changes”. Specifically, change from passive summary mode to active management and promotion mode; Change from the emphasis on comprehensiveness of responsibility fulfillment to the characteristic responsibility fulfillment that highlights energy enterprise features based on comprehensive responsibility fulfillment; Change from management level. To expand on this, it is strengthening the construction of systems and processes to culture level (i.e., gradually extracting and precipitating the idea of responsibility and including it into corporate culture as an important part). Mr. Ge stated that CR Power still had a long way to go to fulfill social responsibility without endless, and thus would continuously pursue the “Renewing Life with Green Energy” and cooperate with all stakeholders to jointly make more efforts and contributions to the promotion of China’s economic, environmental and social sustainable development. In the meantime, he said that CR Power had participated in the compilation, modification and consultation of CASS-CSR3.0 and thus would continue taking an active part in the compilation and modification of China-CSR 4. CR power will contribute by providing scientific and powerful guidelines for Chinese power enterprises for the purposes of innovation in CSR management and improve relevant report writing level under the new terms.
