On November 1, the “First China Forum on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Frontier” was held in Beijing and issued the Blue Book of Corporate Social Responsibility (2015). It announced the Top 100 Enterprises Ranking of Chinese state-owned and private enterprises and foreign-funded enterprises by the CSR development index and also the CSR development indexes in 16 key sectors such as power, banking and food. CR Power’s CSR development index scored 82.4 points, a rise of 17.8 points over last year. It becomes a five-star enterprise in CSR development index in China’s power industry while it was a four-star enterprise last year.

The Blue Book of Corporate Social Responsibility (2015) focuses on the hot industries with great economic, social and environmental influence, and gives a detailed exposition of the periodical characteristics of enterprises in different industries in terms of social responsibility management and social responsibility information disclosure. The CSR development index of China’s power industry is calculated based on the corporate performance in four aspects –responsibility management, market responsibility, social responsibility and environmental responsibility, covering 12responsibilityissues concerning responsibility strategy and management, safety in production, charity and environmental responsibility and so on.

The 2015 CSR development index of China’s power industry scored 71.1 points, at a four-star level generally. With a score of 82.4 points, CR Power is rated as leading practitioner in terms of responsibility strategy and management, responsibility communication, shareholders’ rights and interests, technological innovation, management according to law, safety in production and other aspects, fully demonstrating its great improvement in social responsibility management and responsibility information disclosure and so on.

In recent years, CR Power has attached great importance to fulfillment of CSR, stressed both economic growth and environmental protection, constantly strengthened social responsibility management, actively promoted social responsibility practice, and made a lot of fruitful work in terms of economic development, resource conservation and environmental protection by deepening compliance management, energy conservation and emissions reduction, lean management and technological innovation.
